I participated in 4 phone interviews. In the first interview with HR, I was asked about my salary requirements and I told them what I was currently making. I then had an interview with a regional supervisor in which we discussed the area that I would be covering and specifics of the job. I was told I was interviewing for a job in my current state. After this, I had a 3rd "peer interview" to determine if I was a good for the role in terms of personality. All of these went very well. After about a week, I got an email from a person I wasn't familiar with stating they had reviewed my resume and wanted to set up an interview. This was strange because there was no mention of my 3 previous interviews and it was as if we were starting the process over again. I asked if this was part of the same process for the same job I had already discussed and was told it was part of the same process but for a job in a different state. Both positions were remote positions, however I received no communication after the first 3 interviews to let me know that the position had changed from my home state to a different state. The 4th interview also went well. I was then contacted by HR a week later with an offer.... for $4 less an hour than I am currently making. The offer was insulting, especially after 4 interviews. I informed them I could not take a pay cut, and received an email the next day stating that they were not willing to negotiate. I was asked about salary in my very first interview and it was extremely disappointing to go through 4 interviews over 1 month only to find out we could have determined I was not a good fit based on salary alone from day 1.
