I had an initial call with recruiter where we discussed my motivations and was asked some basic level programming questions on Python and Javascript as it pertained to the role I was applying to. Following this I was eventually sent a take home tech test which I completed within the week time period outlined. A week later I receive an email telling me the requirements for the role has changed and they are looking for more suitable candidates. Judging from the email they did not even bother to review my tech test. Surely the requirements should be clearly defined before starting the recruitment process instead of wasting peoples time by getting them to spend hours on a tech test that has no significance???

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Neo4j (London, England) in May 2022
Interview
The process consisted of a first interview with the manager to check general suitability for the role, followed by a take home test/case study, followed by an interview with the engineering team, where the day to day work and expectation where made clearer.
Thanks so much for taking the time to interview with us. I'm glad that you had a positive experience overall and that you were able to learn more about the role and team here at Neo4j. Wishing you the best of luck in your search!
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Neo4j (Malmö, Skåne) in Apr 2022
Interview
The interview consisted of a first interview with a recruiter, a second with the team, followed up by a technical assignment. The assignment was then examined in a pair programming session with one of the engineers. Last interview was with the team's manager. Overall a purposeful, if slightly long, process. The main drawback was that the process seemed to move forward at a glacial pace, although I chalk that up to the particular recruiter (?).
