Human Resources Leadership Development Program Interview

      Apr 30, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S. in Mar 2014

      Interview

Although the program did not require having a manufacturing background the interviewer focused on this aspect quite a bit. Even though they had a copy of my resume and should have been familiar with my professional background..

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Do you have prior experience in manufacturing and if not why are you interested in working with a manufacturing company?

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S. in Aug 2016

      Interview

I usually don't write these reviews, but my experience with this company was so awful. Starting at the beginning of August, I was contacted by a talent sourcer to set up a phone screen. I gave her the time that worked for me, and waited for the call. I was working at an internship at the time, and she called an hour early because she got the time zone wrong. And, of course, she made it my fault. So I took my lunch early and called her back. We had a conversation that, to me, seemed to go well. She said I'd hear back either way within two weeks. Two weeks went by, and I called her back for an update. She didn't answer, so I left a message. Never returned. A month goes by, and then two, and then three. I called once a month and never heard back. And then, last week, over 3 months later, I got this generic form email saying that I didn't get it. Maybe a call would have been nice? I have never felt so disrespected by a company, and working as a recruiter currently, I will remember this experience as everything I shouldn't do for my candidate's experience.

I really appreciate you providing us feedback, and I apologize for the poor experience you had with us. My name is Mel, and I oversee the recruiting process for Nestlé Purina. What you went through is unacceptable and we take full responsibility for poor customer service. Please accept my apology. I have addressed this situation with the appropriate recruiting team. I assure you this type of experience is not how we train our people and, in most cases, candidates have a much better experience. If you would like to discuss this further please reach out to me at purinajobs@purina.nestle.com. I would very much like more information so that we can use this as a learning opportunity. Again, thanks for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. - Mel K., Director, Talent Sourcing
