Perhaps it was timing and/or luck, but my process went super fast - very shortly after I submitted the online application on New Relic’s website, I was contacted via email for a phone screening. One of the most memorable takeaways from the phone screening (other than the recruiter making me feel comfortable, while asking reasonably pointed questions) was that I was provided the salary range for the position I was applying for. This was an unexpected, pleasant surprise, and demonstrated that New Relic is serious about providing transparency, and treating all candidates equitably from a compensation perspective. This led to a video conference interview with the hiring manager, where he shared that I would be brought in for an in-person interview. When I saw the in-person schedule, it was somewhat intimidating because I would be talking to ~10 "Relics" (how New Relic refers to their employees) during the course of 5 hours. Fortunately there were no large panel interviews, which can be exponentially more anxiety-inducing. Any interview day jitters dissipated when I entered the warm, inviting environment here at the PDX location and spent time with the awesome collection of people with whom I interviewed. I had one more follow-up phone chat with the hiring manager, and was offered the position a few days later. Overall, I had a wonderful interview experience and feel so grateful & fortunate to now be a newly minted Relic!
