After first stage screening and second stage discussing about why new relic and the tech stack, the third stage I was offered the take-home assignment. After completing the assignment, I had to wait for almost two weeks to receive feedback. Unfortunately, the feedback was disappointing, and it seemed as though they had only quickly scanned my HTML and CSS files. One of the feedback points went against what they had said in the assignment prompt. For example, I was told that using create-react-app (CRA) would not allow them to evaluate my knowledge of tools like webpack and transpilation scripts. However, in the assignment prompt, they had stated that I was free to use any library or framework that could help me complete the task, including CRA, React, Redux, Vue, and others. Other candidates have also reported similar experiences in glassdoor reviews. Therefore, my suggestion is to avoid New Relic take-home assignment and try others instead. I have had good experiences with many take-home assignments in the past, except for this one. Additionally, New Relic does not allow candidates to make the assignment public in a repository.
