Recruiter screening was followed by a case study and a technical round, and then a take-home assignment which we were to present to team members.
First, the recruiter mistakenly scheduled two case study rounds. I realized this during the interview when they repeated the same questions. I had to email the recruiter to schedule the technical interview. No feedback was given after the first two rounds. However, I learned from one of the panel members about the haphazard and directionless working conditions.
I received a take-home assignment that was unclear in its objectives. I spent more time deciphering the problem statements than actually working on them, dedicating about 15 hours to the task. (Please ensure you receive feedback from the previous rounds before accepting this assignment.)
After all this effort, the recruiter informed me that while my two rounds went well, feedback from the first case study round indicated that I was not a good fit for the role, as they were looking for candidates with different experience.
To the recruiter: please be upfront about your expectations and provide candidates with feedback before assigning take-home tasks.
