      Product Manager Interview

      Nov 22, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NextRoll (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2019

      Interview

They moved through the steps fairly quickly, but the recruiter was terrible. She gave me no detail as to the type of calls I was getting on. After a presentation and onsite she told me I had a behavioral interview. When I got on the call I was thrown into 2 challenge questions. I wasn't mentally ready, having been told to be ready for a behavioral call. They expect a LOT of work and then never even got back to me with a decision. Interviews and project together took almost 22 hours, and I have a full time job.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you had a less than amazing experience. We would like to provide a little insight into our product interviewing process to help you and others navigate engaging with us. Because we have multiple opportunities on our product team, we view each candidate through the lens of being a potential fit for multiple roles. Because we're trying to give candidates every opportunity to find a home at NextRoll, sometimes our recruiting team isn't able to provide detailed preparation. All things are iterative here and there seems to be an opportunity for improvement in our product interviewing process. We'll continue to work on standardizing our product interviewing so we can both accomplish our need to consider candidates for multiple roles, while also providing the best possible experience. We want our candidate's experience to be exceptional and independent of the ultimate outcome. Again, we are sorry that your experience didn't meet our bar, but appreciate your candid review as it will help us drive improvement. We hope you'll consider NextRoll in your future job search.
