I had a phone screen with HR and in onsite interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager was nice and set expectations pretty clearly upfront. He was looking first for the right personality; a leader to drive the team forward. Secondly, he wanted someone with a strong technical background. I've never worked professionally as a developer so I wasn't able to answer one of his technical design questions. He said he would bring 2 people back for further interviews with his team.
I was asked to come back for the next round of interviews and met with two people who would be peers of mine. They were both nice and asked fairly generic behavioral questions. Nothing very difficult. It seemed that the job would be very similar to what I was currently doing.
Finally, I had a phone interview with a different HR person. I was honest in saying that the job didn't sound like it would be much more challenging than my current role, and I wasn't planning to leave my job for this one unless the compensation made it well worth it to move. (this job would add 35 minutes to my commute each way).
They did not extend me an offer, and unless the money made it too good to pass up, I wasn't planning to accept anyway.
