I applied online and cold emailed some people in the office my resume once I saw the job posted. I’m not sure which one of these methods was the one that worked, but I heard back from hr a few days later
Pre interview: phone screen from HR. They let me know in advance that the salary would be about 17,000 Hong Kong dollars per month. They will give you a run down of the job , ask about your general interests, clear up any questions you may have. I think this step is mostly a formality.
Round 1: automated, online interview administered by hire view. The website will give you a set of 6 or so questions, and ask you to answer each one successively. Usually they will give you some sort of scenario, then give you three options to choose from. I’m not sure if there is any wrong answer, but its probably always better to go on the conservative side
Round 2: test and interview. I was given a test about 2 hours before the interview of this round. The test had three parts: analyzing a set of slides with data, a ‘spot the error’ quiz where they give you a slide from a deck which contains multiple mistakes, and you have to spot all the errors, and finally a simple math quiz. The math is pedmas tier stuff, with a little bit of probability. I was given 2 hours to finish the quiz
After the test, you’ll be asked to present your findings on the slides with the data in front of two team members. I prepared for this segment by looking at some integrated reasoning problems from the GMAT, which were pretty similar. After you finish presenting, you’ll just be asked some regular interview questions related to the role or your work experience, which will maybe last 20 minutes
While everyone’s experience may be different, my interview was primarily conducted in Cantonese, as most of the clients of this office are local or domestic, with a strong emphasis on FMCG. If your Cantonese isn’t at least conversational, do not bother applying. I never heard back, but this is kind of typical at job applications these days, even though they specifically told me they would give me feedback.
