I was emailed to say they would like to interview me for a position I applied for. We decided on a date and time for the phone interview. I took time off work to attend the phone call..which never came! After following up, we rescheduled the phone interview and I scheduled it in the morning so I am not at work if there is a repeat. Shockingly, the phone call again did not come. Since I know someone who works in the company, I asked them to check the status of the HR individual and it said offline, meaning they were not present in office. Rescheduled again and this time I gave a call to the HR and had the chat. Was told someone would get back to me regarding the results. It has been over a month now with no update. After two follow up emails and one voicemail not being acknowledged, I give up. Considering my case would have required a good amount of HR involvement in the future, it is a good thing I got a taste of the experience before hand. I have never had any experience with a HR department where they are so callous to interview applicants. Unfortunately this happened with Northwestern Mutual, a company I sincerely admire.
