I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Oak Brook, IL) in Jan 2016
Interview
There were a series of three interviews. The first one is super easy as they pretty much just just try to get to know who you are and why you're applying for the position. The second interview is where you actually get a better idea of what you'll be doing. This is where they give you the whole compensation spiel and give you a binder for what you're supposed to do leading up to the third interview. Because you all care about the compensation I'll just say that first. You get 1000 if you go to 10 two-hour meetings in the city, you get another 1000 if you have like 5 or 3 client meetings in a week, and you get another 1000 if you show that you're improving or something and along with that you get compensation for the sales. Next the binder. This is where you have to interview 10 people to give a review on what they think of financial services and then ask those 10 people for referrals (60). You would then be expected to call each referral.

Question 1
In what situation did I face a lot of adversity and how did I respond to it?
There were four or five interviews, if you count the meeting with my future mentor. There were also a few personality assessments. Lots of paperwork. The finance industry is tightly regulated.
The first interview was easygoing and went fairly well. We talked a little on myself and what northwestern was all about. Because they wanted to see how I could fit in to their team and what I would bring.

Interview
The process was smooth and straight forward. A lot of behavioral based questions, but relaxed and low stress. First phase is a phone screening followed by a teams or in person meeting.
