I applied online for a position at the headquarters office in Evanston. The company recruiter contacted me to schedule a phone interview, which went really well. She mentioned that she would reach out to me in a week with the next steps. However, a week went by and I hadn’t heard anything. I sent her a follow-up note to inquire about any feedback or updates. She replied with a rather aggressive note, stating that she would inform me once she had time to review my application with the hiring manager. Based on her tone, I could pretty much guess the outcome myself. The next day, I received not one, but two rejection emails informing me that I was not being considered for the position. Later, I learned that this recruiter was being let go, which didn't surprise me at all.
