Interview
I first showed interest on AngelList after I learnt from HackerNews that they were hiring. I was introduced to Head of Talent Acquisition who handed me over to recruiter titled "Talent Acquisition Partner".
First conversation was with the Recruiter. It was a touchbase interview.
First technical interview Principal Software Engineer. Interview was pretty easy with one coding question on Coderpad. He asked about my current position, technologies I am working with and introduced me to the company culture and technology stack. I will say this part of the interview was a positive experience.
After a week, I was contacted by the recruiter to schedule second Technical Interview. I replied with my preferable date being June 1 before noon. I didn't hear back anything from her until June 1. On June 1, she apologizes for delayed response and asks for my availability for the following days. I suggested June 6th. And again, I don't receive any response from her. I sent a followup email for if there was any confirmation, but I didn't receive any reply to that either.
On June 6th, I receive an e-mail from same recruiter saying she just "saw" my e-mail and asks again for my availability that week. I honestly, ask if there was any problem on my e-mail provider that she always receives or "sees" my emails on the date I suggest for next technical interview. She replies with apology, that's it's not the email, but the emailer, and again asks for my availability that week.
I was already tired of this back and forth, and for one last time, I wanted to give it a chance. I suggested either Thursday or friday before noon, but I told her in the e-mail that I would need confirmation by EOD that day to squeeze the interview in my schedule. I sent this e-mail on 7AM of June 7.
Then, I don't get back any words from her that day. So, as frustrated as I was already, I sent her an email CC'ing their Head of Recruiting that I didn't find their behavior professional, and I would like to retract my candidacy.
TL;DR; : Thanks for wasting my time Outreach.
