Interview
The interview process consisted of the following steps:
- Recruiter screening (average conversation with buzz words)
- Technical interview with their leadership (45 mins). High-level questions about technologies best suited for certain problem solving, and documentation-level questions about specifics of the technologies in their stack.
- Homework technical task (they gave me a couple of days to deliver). They sent me a problem description and a list of technologies they wanted to use in my solution. They also requested to write some sort of documentation for my solution explaining what my solution does and why + an architecture diagram.
- Technical interview with two engineers (1 hour). We went over my solution, did a screen-sharing session where I had to adjust my application to the new requirements they introduced during that call. They also gave me a couple of "fizzbuzz" tasks trying to see if I can think quickly on my feet.
- Interview with one of their investors (30 minutes). That was a non-technical interview, more of a call to better understand whether I culturally fit their company.

1. What's your take on React Hooks? Explain pros and cons of it.
2. What's a store and should we use it? Explain your answer.
3. Explain your approach when deciding on the unit test coverage for your homework technical task.
4. Here's a Node/React application that fetches some data from external API. That data comes as a single object. Adjust this application's code to simulate a response that contains an array of objects, pass it to the Redux store, and then render response objects as separate options in the UI.
5. Here's a JS function that takes an argument, manipulates it and returns the result. If the argument is XYZ, what would the the result? (answer without running the function)
6. Here's an image with geometrical shapes. Recreate this exact image with HTML/CSS.

Interview
Pretty basic process. Phone screen then a take home assignment. Like the other person here I was asked to do a weather app. I put a decent amount of time into the app and was taken to the next stage of the hiring process. I passed that stage but didn't hear back after the stage after that. I spent a ton of time preparing for and doing these interviews and just got ghosted. What a crappy way to treat someone. I would avoid this place if you want to be treated with respect. They also mentioned they want you to be on a zoom call with another coworker all day to boost productivity. Big yikes!

Interview
I applied to a job through LinkedIn and was contacted by an internal recruiter. After a phone call with them, I was eventually scheduled to have an interview with the hiring manager. Overall I was not impressed with the hiring manager. They seemed kinda checked-out of the interview and their technical questions were along the lines of "Have you used X. What about Y?"
After that interview I was told the next step was a take-home assignment. The assignment was to create a web app that displays weather data. I did the assignment and submitted it to the hiring manager. It's been two weeks and I haven't received any feedback, so it's safe to assume I was rejected. I'll never apply to a Palmetto role again. How are you going to ask someone to dedicate hours of their time building you an app and not have the decency and professionalism to respond?
