I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Phenom (Ambler, PA) in Oct 2025
Interview
First step was a screening — 6 questions, 1 minute each. Took about 45 minutes total and was pretty straightforward.
Second step was the recruiter screen. It went well, genuinely enjoyable, and ended on a very positive note. Four minutes later, I received an automated rejection email. The recruiter later apologized and scheduled the next interview with the hiring manager.
The third step — the hiring manager interview — was canceled twice (about an hour and a half before each scheduled time). The final version happened five days after the original date.
Turns out the “hiring manager interview” was actually a surprise technical coding test. I couldn’t answer all of it live, but it wasn’t anything I haven’t worked on before.
Overall, the process felt disorganized and inconsistent. I’d imagine that’s a fair reflection of what it’s like to work there.

Question 1
"What's more important, being a smart worker or a hard worker?"
The interview was pretty easy, and the interviewer was kind and easy to talk to. Explained the role well, but he was not as technically versed and lacked communication afterward
