I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Planet in Aug 2019
Interview
Applied online and had the first phone screen a week later. I had a second phone screen the next week where I was asked all the same questions and was told that they had been looking for 4 months with many applicants "in the pipeline" for that time, including 4 who had done onsite interviews.
Was then sent a lengthy coding challenge that I put about 10 hours into over a weekend. They never acknowledged receipt, and when I follow-up with the recruiter I'm told that they still need time to make a decision. It's been over a month and I can only assume I'm "in the pipeline" like many others.
I applied online. I interviewed at Planet (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2019
Interview
I applied on Glassdoor and was reached out by a contractor to schedule a screener call and later a call to talk with the Hiring Manager. It was pretty easy and I was later asked to come for an on-site within a couple of days of speaking with the recruiter and HM.
I loved the on-site and meeting the whole team. Everyone was super engaged and interested in the things I had to say, despite not having actual recruiting coordination experience. I also had the chance to speak with the new Diversity & Inclusion Director who was open to me asking questions about how he planned on making the team more inclusive of people of color. All in all I really enjoyed speaking with the team and felt respected and validated throughout our conversations.
I didn't get the job offer, but these are definitely people I would like to work with in the future, if the opportunity presents itself.
