They reached out to me without mentioning the company name and were constantly name dropping Merrill lynch, so I had assumed it was that company or at least connected in a meaningful way. I had the interview online, and discovered that the company is a pyramid scheme for insurance sales and would not benefit my finance internship for college or improve my knowledge in finance. Felt like I was lied to. Told me there's an upfront and monthly fee to stay at the job, and that they need friends and families' info for the first sales where I "learn to sell to clients". If you are a college student and they reach out, don't even bother unless you are looking to get into sales and are okay with paying fees and a percentage of your sales to keep your job.

Showed presentation and explained how term life insurance works. They answered all my questions. The job requires getting life insurance license which the company can help sponsor part of it as well aide in getting additional licenses.
