Public Consulting Group Manager interview questions

Not a great experience. Do not recommend. I read the bad reviews and thought maybe they were one-offs. Recruiter reached out to me via email to schedule a screening interview. Screening call lasted about 20 minutes. Felt like I was pulling teeth out, trying to get a reaction while I was talking about my relevant experience. Everything I said was met with an, "mmmmmkay...." Seemed I was able to convince her that I was worth interviewing. She said she'd pass my resume onto the hiring manager. Told me to follow up within a few days if I didn't hear back. A few days passed and I reached out, just as she requested. I guess the hiring manager didn't like my resume. Within a few hours, I received an automated rejection email from Workday. She didn't even has the decency to respond via email. As the one who requested action on my part, you should at least reciprocate. Another major red flag -- she asked what my desired salary was. I gave a range that was WITHIN the posted range for the role, and it was even at the bottom half of the range. I wasn't being unreasonable or greedy. Similarly to other interview reviewers, this recruiter immediately told me that my range was likely not going to work. Are you SERIOUS? It makes no sense to scoff at answers that fall within the range that is posted. I made it to the FINAL round of interviews for a similar role at a larger consulting firm, for which I wasn't selected. But, that indicates to me that I have strong experience and should have been considered. The entire process for the competitor firm was 100x better than this one screening call. It was incredibly transparent and everyone I spoke to was kind. The complete opposite of PCG. After this experience, I have no desire to seek future employment at PCG. This was icky. The only pro was that at least the PCG process was over quick.
