I was really excited about this role and had a great initial process. I applied online, was contacted by the recruiter, had a phone interview, and then was pushed to the next round. I met with two members of the executive team, who were beyond lovely, but then things took a turn. I was invited in to participate in a panel interview, which ended up being with 6 members of the executive team. It was in-person at their office during the work day. I can't describe the experience in any other way besides saying they GRILLED me. At one point, one of the executives cut me off mid sentence with "Eh, eh eh: You're not answering my question." So I altered my answer and then she looked at me and said, " Yeah, there you go." It was honestly upsetting. After the interview was completed, I was in the elevator heading down with one of the staff members that was on the panel. We were chatting on the way down, then as we entered the lobby I said, "Are you headed out to get lunch?" And she said, "Oh no, I'm going to get the next candidate," and walked over to a person waiting in the lobby and started bringing them back to the elevator. Despite all that, I was still really excited about the opportunity as the manager for the role did seem really great. But after 3+ interviews, (including one I took time out of my current role to attend in-person!) they sent me an automated template rejection that didn't even say my name. I had been texting with the recruiter for weeks, and she said she'd let me know once she had a decision. But after I texted her the last time, she never responded. Instead I got a bot that referred to me as "candidate."
