Had a zoom call with the recruiter to discuss my background and role. After the call, he sent me a link to have a second interview with one of the hiring managers. I told him the link wasn't working and if he can send me a new one. He went totally ghost on me and hasn't even reached out to let me know what happened. I understand that he has targets to meet and used me as an activity metric. But I could have at least gotten a reply back even to tell me thru were going in a different direction.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Restaurant365 in Sep 2024

Bait and switch for roles! Job postings aren’t all real!!
First Zoom with the recruiter I find out that my resume had been taken from the roles I applied for and thrown into a req for a role that was based 5 hrs away from my home. I was told she would get me back to a role I had actually applied for.
Second Zoom with the hiring manager I find out it was still for the role 5 hrs away, When I pushed for how much this new role requires you in the field I was given 3 answers, but never a straight one.

Question 1
Are you willing to drive 5 hours each way to meet with potential clients?

Interview
First call was with a recruiter that went really well. Standard first round questions around previous quota, hunting vs farming, ect. The person was super personable and nice. Actually made me a bit excited for the position, even though it was a huge pay cut.
Had my second interview with the hiring manager and what a joke. First thing he said was that he didn't have any open headcount, but always wants to keep his funnel of talent open... When I asked if he was getting headcount anytime soon, his answer was "Honestly, I hope not. I'm sick of hiring people"... so yeah. Complete and total waste of time. I can understand interviewing when you don't have headcount yet, but are expecting someone to get promoted or leave or whatever. But when you have no openings in sight; to still take a meeting is crazy. This guy had also never been in Saas sales, told me he never really even knew what Saas was before taking this job. To have that as your manager was also a huge red flag for me.
