I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Retool (New York, NY) in Sep 2023
Interview
A kid (seriously looked about 20) rushed me through the typical tell me about yourself and why do you want to work here questions and then asked if I had questions for him. I inquired about the team structure and how many reps are hitting quota, he said they were hiring pretty aggressively and that all the reps were hitting quota, but based on the other reviews here I doubt that the latter was true. Throughout the interview he didnt even really seem like he wanted to be there and the whole thing was over in less than 10 minutes. Then a few days later I got an email saying that he enjoyed the conversation and after *careful consideration* they wouldnt be moving forward. The whole experience was so laughable that I came to write this review even though I dont usually do so.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Retool (London, England) in Jan 2024
Interview
1st round - 30min zoom call with HR
2nd round - 30min zoom call with Head of Sales Development
3rd round - written assignment (48 hours to complete)
4th round - discovery call role play
They seemed really positive during the first 2 rounds, and talked next steps. After I sent back my written assignment, they ghosted. I tried following up with via email/LinkedIn, but no response.
I ran my written assignment by a friend experienced in sales. They rated it 6.5/10, not amazing but not ghost worthy.
Written assignment questions:

2. Write an example of what you’d send to each prospect. List out your contact strategy (which channels, # of touch points). What do you think would be good persona titles/targets for Retool?
3. Do your best to answer the following questions as if they came to you from a prospect you reached out to:
A. What type of data sources can Retool connect to?
B. What security measures are in place for the cloud version of Retool?
