I applied online. I interviewed at Reward Gateway (Plovdiv) in Nov 2021
Interview
Had a couple of interviews, first one was a call in which they explained the position to me.
The next one was a video interview in which we spoke about my experience and basic 101 interview.
After this interview they gave me a task to do, which i had about a week to complete and i could develop it in any language i wanted.
I sent it to them and had a final interview in which they gave me an offer.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Reward Gateway (London, England) in May 2019
Interview
First I received a call by their in house Talent Manager, I was then invited for a technical face to face interview with two lead developers, both of whom seemed highly experienced.
A day or so later, I was invited for the next stage.
The next stage was an interview with Head of Development and the CTO, this was more of a culture fit.
A couple of days after the final interview, I've received an offer. Their office was nice, the benefits were unlike I've anything I've seen in any other company, but I wanted to work remotely four days a week after half a year, and they weren't able to accommodate for that, so I had to decline the offer. They could do 1-2 days a week remotely, which is still better than most other companies.
Overall, I've found the interview process fairly quick and efficient.
15 mins for the initial phone screening
1.5h - 2h for the take home assignment, which was a lot better than the online time limited coding tests that most other companies do
1h for the first stage interview
1h for the second stage interview
If I had an easier commute and didn't require that many remote days, I would've definitely accepted the offer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you keep up to date with latest technologies and trends?
Thank you for your review.
I am sorry that we could not persuade you to join us, I know you would have made a strong addition to the team. The kind words about the process were nice to hear, especially around the technical test.
Thank you also for the feedback on our office and benefits, we are proud of them.
In regards to the remote working. Flexible working is something we encourage and give freedom to our colleagues to do. The request for 4 days remote working was not something we could agree to at this stage so we were not able to agree to the depth of your request.
Please do stay in touch, we are always keen to employ talented developers.
Cheers
Robert
