      Content Designer/Product Designer Interview

      May 31, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

      I applied in-person. I interviewed at RingCentral

      Interview

I was rejected from the same role twice…very strange situation…let me explain: I applied for a lead content design position, then was sent an email telling me to sign up for their RingCentral video service within an hour of applying. I never signed up because I didn’t have an interview scheduled. Then I was rejected a day later around 3:40 am on a weekend. I, however kept receiving emails telling me to sign up for their video call services and there was no link to unsubscribe (this is illegal). I received a survey about a day after the rejection regarding my interview (the one that never happened because I was rejected). I answered it honestly, saying I don’t even think there was a job…I think it was a marketing tactic. A few days later, I received a request for an interview for a Content Design / Product developer interview. It was scheduled by a recruiting specialist that never said where he got my resume. I thought it was strange since I had received a rejection for the other role, but cautiously, I proceeded. He scheduled an interview with another recruiter that gave me a marketing pitch about the company. He also asked weird strengths finders questions instead of asking very specific job related questions that are very traditional of recruiter calls. The interview was for the content design team and not just one role. That recruiter told me the “next steps” (this was a late Friday call), then sent a rejection (for a Lead Content Design role, which was the first role I applied for but was rejected) the next business day, in the morning. Two rejections for the same position. Interestingly strange. For a company that pitched me on them trying to grow and be a product that fits users and listens to people, they seem to not have their act together. It seems weird that they’ve been in business for as long as they say they have and can’t seem to rise above their competitors. If you are trying to get on with this company, be aware of all the oddities…it says a lot to me and after contemplating, this company seems shady. If you get that feeling about any company or person in jobs or in life, it’s for a reason.
