I had one phone interview and two in person interviews. At the end of the second in person interview, I was offered the position verbally. I was told that I wouldn't be able to see a contract for review until I verbally accepted the offer. During these two interviews, I was not told what my salary would be - just that it would be within the range of my expectations I listed on the formal application they required. I did not get any information on the total benefits package and asked if I could take some time to think over the opportunity. They said that was fine and set a deadline for when I should respond. I tried to reach out to the HR representative via email twice and via phone twice, without any response for two days. I emailed my interviewee and would-be supervisor and let her know that I was unable to connect with the HR rep. and asked her to help me get in touch and/or extend the deadline for accepting the position. Finally (on the day of the deadline), I got a response from my interviewee letting me know they were putting the position for hire on hold. It was one of the most bizarre interview experiences I had ever had.
