There was an online intelligence test consisting of mainly maths and spatial awareness based questions. For example there was different sized plungers connected with a tube and you had to work out the amount the other plunger would rise/fall by.
The telephone interview asked basic questions like why you'd like to work for SSE, your experience, qualifications etc.
The face to face interview had 3 parts, a manual dexterity test where you are given PPE and have to bend a wire into the shape they ask, then a role play where you are an engineer and the interviewer is a customer, and finally a colour blind test. I'm colour blind myself, and got the job, so it's not the end of the world if you don't pass - it's just so they can investigate further.
They also do a background check, driving competency test if you get the job, and have a no tolerance to drugs with random spot checks across the company.
