"I recently interviewed for a Lead Sales Associate position at Saatva and put significant effort into preparing—researching the company, practicing responses, and crafting thoughtful questions. The interview itself was a great conversation, and I was verbally assured I would receive an update by Friday, regardless of the outcome. In the end, we even scheduled a potential first day for me, should I be chosen for the role. I didn’t take that as a guarantee, but it seemed promising—otherwise, why ask me to hold those dates? However, that follow-up never came—no call, no email, not even an automated rejection notice.
While I understand not every candidate will be selected, professional courtesy matters. Candidates invest time and effort into the process, and a simple update would have provided closure. If a company expects candidates to be prepared, engaged, and communicative, it’s fair to expect the same in return. I hope Saatva considers improving its follow-up process to ensure all applicants receive clear and timely communication. At the very least, companies should avoid asking candidates to tentatively hold multiple onboarding dates unless they are serious about moving forward."
