Interview process was very lengthily, four interviews with different levels of senior management over about a month plus. For the most part interviews were very enjoyable, solid industry knowledge and insight into the Seasons 52 brand.
I deliberated for a couple of weeks if I should or should not post my experience, but after speaking with several other candidates through LinkedIn I decided I should. My issues is as follows:
Seasons 52 speaks of their core beliefs one, of them being “courage” which I must say they do not follow in my opinion. I say this because it is my belief that if you interview someone four times and decide that they are not the right fit you should have the courage to call or send a non-generic email. Especially when you say another candidate has been chosen, but the ad for the position is back up within 24 hours. Now I am totally ok with the fact I was not hired, if the fit is not right you can’t force it. Finding the right people in this industry is crucial and I have been around long enough to know that.
That being said this experience was an embarrassment to Darden, Seasons 52 and hospitality in general. It’s very simple to take the time to put a personal touch on any form of communication, you want your applicants to believe in your core values you should do the same. People in the industry are talking about this and sooner or later it will catch up to you.
