Interview
Interviewed with the Head of Sales Development, Director of Sales, and VP of Revenue over the course of a few weeks.
Everyone was easy to talk with and gave open and honest answers to my questions.
I got a sense that the team was not only looking for someone that could do the job but someone that would be an excellent cultural fit and can handle the controlled chaos that comes along with a startup on its way to unicorn status.

Interview
I had 4 individual interviews with this company and after the fourth, they completely ghosted me. I was incredibly excited about this product and opportunity and while I still think the product is amazing, I am shocked at how unprofessional they were after my last interview. After I invested hours of time speaking to multiple people, I received absolutely no response or follow up. I inquired only to have my inquiry go unanswered. I assume there was a last minute shakeup of hiring plans but it costs nothing to relay that information to candidates.

Interview
This was by far one of the WORST candidate experiences I’ve had to date. I went through five interview rounds for the Sales Development Manager position, and although the process started out promising, I was utterly disappointed in how it ended. After previous warm encounters from the hiring team, they completely ghosted me as soon as they were no longer interested in me as a candidate.
After repeated attempts at getting a simple update from them for over a month and a half after my last interview, they failed to even send a generic rejection email, which is the bare minimum.
Leaving candidates in the dark about where they stand in the interviewing process after they’ve already invested a great deal of time going through 5 interview rounds is extremely inconsiderate. Keep in mind that I was also promised a quick update within a couple days of my last interview, so this further adds to the lack of professionalism that their team exhibited in failing to meet expectations that they set.
I’m honestly not even upset that I didn’t receive an offer - it’s solely the fact that they didn’t have the common decency to take 2 seconds to deliver a simple rejection note after I had spent hours talking to their team and after I was told how impressed they were by the level of effort I put into my interviews versus other candidates. Nice to know that they didn’t feel the need to reciprocate any effort into making sure that my candidate experience ended on a positive note.
I’ve never gone out of my way to write a bad Glassdoor review until now, so I genuinely hope the Shopmonkey team will use this feedback to do better for future candidates.
