Applied online. 9 days later, I receive an email saying they want to schedule a phone interview. I set a time using their "virtual scheduling assistant" and was told that the recruiter would call me. Scheduled time of the phone interview comes around and 30 minutes pass, no call from the recruiter. I email the recruiter to follow up, wondering why I just got ghosted. He emails back saying that he had cancelled but didn't know I hadn't been notified and that he was sorry. He offers to reschedule and so I send my availability. Later that night, I get notified that I am no longer under consideration via Workday. Getting peoples' hopes up just to waste their time and toy with their emotions. Regardless of how many candidates you have applying to your roles, you should at least have the human decency to treat them with respect. Consider the fact that there is another human behind that computer screen.
