I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Snap in Apr 2021
Interview
I've been invited for the first round (one hour) for a Software Security Engineer position in Switzerland which consisted of a presentation of the team and its work, then 30 minutes of questions (which to my surprise were about system design, which is not common for graduate students), and then 15 minutes in a coding question.
The interviewer was rather cold, not very friendly and I have not seen even one smile. So, pretty uncomfortable.
The coding question was leetcode easy.
I have not received any offer, the hiring team ghosted my emails asking for feedback.
I've felt a lack of humain from the beggining to the end.

Question 1
What would be the security challenges when sending a snap to the backend, what information could be processed synchronously, asynchrounously, what could the API look like...
One initial screening call. Then 1 coding screen. Then an on-site with 3 coding rounds and 1 system design round. All the rounds were pretty straightforward DSA patterns and SD was also a common question you read about in SD interview prep books.
For the technical rounds, I was asked leetcode style questions. Need to practice Data structures and algorithms in order to do well on the interviews. It's important to explain the code as you go along and clarfiy any questions with the interviewer.
Hard but interesting. Had to go through 1 HM round, 2 coding rounds and 2 systems design rounds. Coding round was hit counter, and message recommendation system. The System design rounds were a bit challenging.
