The interview process started with a recruiter call and then followed with 5 interviews, two of which were a mini-loop and a language assessment. The process was very smooth and the Director interview was probably the most interesting and untraditional one I had in my career; although it was challenging but I loved it.

They asked me what I’m currently on and what my salary expectations would be. They wanted an inclusive number (with their equity plan). When I asked what their equity plan was, they told me the they can’t disclose it until later but they still wanted a number from me to which I provided one based off a 10k AUD buffer. They then proceeded to put me through 5 rounds of interviews, offered me the job but got a low ball offer. What’s the point of interviewing someone when you know what their current base salary is only to offer them less. Not in this cost of living crisis.
