I was in the interview process for about three months, not including the additional month that there was a hiring freeze. At the same time I was interviewing with Galileo, I was offered a position with a different company. I turned that offer down, in part, because I was more excited for this position, especially after speaking to HR after my second interview and being told "we're excited about you." After turning down the other position I was told by HR they had to go on a hiring freeze due to COVID-19 but that they would try to reach out to me every week to keep in touch and keep me updated until the freeze was lifted. I didn't hear from them for a month. A few weeks after that I was told they were going to move forward with interviews. I kept getting told they'd schedule something with me "next week" and then would not hear from them. Eventually, I had another call with HR to prep me for my third interview. During this call, I was told what to expect and that I should hear from him the following week about scheduling my third interview. After spending the next few days prepping for my third interview based on what I was told the interviews would be about, I never heard from Galileo HR. After two weeks I finally contacted him to check in and inevitably scheduled my rejection call with HR. I was told things had changed since the "we're excited about you” phone call. This was not communicated to me properly and I kept getting told I was going to be scheduled for another interview. Among the factors that upset me during this process is the lack of communication and follow-through when communication was stated would occur. In effect, I was strung along over the course of several months and I cannot say if this was deliberate or an unintended consequence. I was told they'd contact me "next week" only for 2-4 weeks to go by before I heard from them again, which happened multiple times. Overall, the lack of communication and length of the whole process would make this possibly one of the worst experiences I've had in an interview process. Even when I was rejected, it was a call I had to reach out and set up.
