      I interviewed at Softensity

      Interview

They have a system that requires you to take a photo of yourself holding your own personal ID before even making the first HR screening call. I was unemployed at the time, so I did it out of necessity, but it seemed extremely shady to me. Anyway, after that, I received the first HR screening call, followed by a second interview with the VP of Softensity. The lady arrived 5 minutes late for the interview, and she appeared to be having connectivity issues because I was speaking and she couldn't hear me. She even screamed in a very rude tone that she couldn't hear me, which turned me off from working for that company in the future. She gave me a very open question which depends heavily on the specifics of the project, and because I did not gave the answer she was expecting, she immediately cut short the interview asking me if I had questions for her and that was the end of the interview. Another red flag I discovered was the company's FAMILY CULTURE, which screams toxic work environment. The final nail in the coffin was that she expected me to have any webcam ON while not turning on her webcam, which made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected because if you expect the candidate to have a webcam on, you should do the same out of respect. After the interview, I knew I wasn't going to get the job, but I asked her when I should expect to hear back, and she lied, saying I had to wait 1 or 2 weeks. As expected, I received no response until I followed up with the recruiter, who responded that they had moved on to other candidates. Last but not least: She asked me what was my current salary, which is something ILLEGAL to ask, and she got away with it because i was being interviewed for a contractor position and i am located outside of the US, but that action seemed extremely sketchy to me. This entire hiring process screamed toxicity at the highest level, and I eventually got a better job somewhere else, and the interview process I received on softensity was a major dodged bullet.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Softensity (São Paulo, São Paulo) in Jan 2024

      Interview

I had an initial interview with HR and a very poorly designed test where I had to keep my camera on the entire time. After that, I received a message from the recruiter saying I had done very well on the test and asking about my availability for the technical interview. I replied with my availability, and she completely ignored me. It was very unprofessional; the least she could have done was inform me that they decided to proceed with another candidate.
