The hiring manager reached out to me on LinkedIn. After reading the job description, I had a short video call (not an interview, just a discussion) with the manager to discuss the role and the company. Then I applied. Over the course of about ten days, I had 30-minute interviews with the VP of Product Management, the hiring manager, an engineering lead, a product manager, and a 45-minute meeting with the CTO. A few business days after the last meeting, the hiring manager reached out with an offer.

I was laid off 6 months ago, have interviewed for numerous roles, but can honestly say this process was the absolute worst I have ever encountered in my career. Including the initial phone screen, I participated in NINE different interviews over a month-long span. I interviewed with HR, hiring manager, team members, and even the CFO. In between different rounds of interviews were 10-15 days of radio silence. After the last interview, I reached back out to HR to inquire about the status and was told twice they were going to follow up with the hiring manager that day and get back to me. As you can guess, that never occurred. It has been a month now since the last interview, so I'm assuming that they selected another candidate after wasting a month of my time. Just as well, I accepted an offer for $20k more anyway, a more senior title, and better benefits.
