Unorganized, chaotic, and alarmingly unprofessional. One interviewer was slamming a milkshake (or some such concoction) down over Zoom while another looked like they just got out of the shower (robe, wet hair and all). There’s remote and then there’s sloppy. Recruiter was a waste of time. No prep; could barely coordinate a simple call. Interviews scheduled for 30 minutes and EVERY SINGLE ONE went over, leaving me little to no time to ask any questions or learn about the company. In total, spoke with 6 people, and bowed out after they “agilely decided” to have me speak to 2 more folks. Can we say overkill? Esp for a non-exec role at a small company. Never ending loops and email tag while the company obviously is just stringing folks along until they find the perfect fit (hopefully the company will still be in business by the time they figure out how to hire).

I was laid off 6 months ago, have interviewed for numerous roles, but can honestly say this process was the absolute worst I have ever encountered in my career. Including the initial phone screen, I participated in NINE different interviews over a month-long span. I interviewed with HR, hiring manager, team members, and even the CFO. In between different rounds of interviews were 10-15 days of radio silence. After the last interview, I reached back out to HR to inquire about the status and was told twice they were going to follow up with the hiring manager that day and get back to me. As you can guess, that never occurred. It has been a month now since the last interview, so I'm assuming that they selected another candidate after wasting a month of my time. Just as well, I accepted an offer for $20k more anyway, a more senior title, and better benefits.
