Applied to a role via LinkedIn. The interview process for that role went recruiter, department director, senior engineer, and lead engineer. The first two were mostly background and behavioral interviews. The second two were technical. I was asked if I'd like to interview for a different role they thought I'd be a good fit for. I reviewed the description and agreed to a 5th interview. This one was mostly technical. It went well and the interviewer gave me very positive feedback, so much so saying they'd absolutely hire me to the systems engineering team. Fast forward a week later and the recruiter let me know they're moving forward with "candidates more closely aligned", so a typical rejection email. After 5 interviews and three weeks spent on the interview process, I expected a bit more then a typical rejection response that offers little reason and no feedback. My overall experience is neutral since I think the time waited to respond and the rejection response, given the time I put into the interview process, was weak. I would, hesitantly, apply in the future since the interviewers themselves were great to talk to. A big highlight of the Spire technical team is how talented and passionate they seemed. Unfortunately that makes the weak rejection response with no feedback worse.
