Spotify has an incredibly slow and unorganized recruiting process. I applied for a role through an employee referral, and the first communication I received from them was a full 6 weeks after my application. I had a video call with a recruiter at an outsourced company that is working for Spotify. He was super nice, but did not have any meaningful information about the role.
He felt I'd be a great fit for the role, but stated that I'd be hearing back about next steps in the next 1-2 WEEKS to set up another call with the hiring manager. In hot job markets like New York, London and SF, companies should be moving through the interview process quickly to stay competitive, but there just seems to be 0 sense of urgency from Spotify. Despite this positive feedback, it was radio silence from Spotify following this first call despite multiple follow ups.
