I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service (Elmhurst, IL) in Oct 2010
Interview
If you are able to get a hold of the hiring manager and set up an interview, it is a pretty basic interview. I went through it with the basic questions, ie: What is your best quality, what do you struggle most with, why do you want to work for this company. I have been told that lately they have been having the GM sit in on interviews, I'm not sure if he asks any more difficult questions. You will also have to take a 50 question system entry test for EMT-B for St Francis. I interviewed initially as a Basic, so I'm not sure how much different it would be for a Paramedic. I imagine it is system specific.

Pretty straight forward, they frequently train new EMT's so there is not so much pressure about having experience. The interviewers were nice and friendly, asked relevant questions, and understanding of on-the-job training needs.
