The interviewer began the call by noting that I had less than the 5 years of experience required of the role. However, these years of experience were not listed in the job description. I have a copy as proof.
Given that I had spoken with one recruiter and one representative of Support Logic prior to this call, there is no reason that I should have advanced to this stage, if 5 YOE were a make or break requirement.
The interviewer thus proceeded to waste 45 minutes of my time.
One must ask, "Did the interviewer set the 5 years of experience standard arbitrarily during the call? If so, out of what motive?"
The interviewer was also quite unpleasant. For instance, he asked me to describe a project that I owned from design to deployment. After describing a project that I was charged to complete at my former employer, he sarcastically asked, "Were you a one man team?"
It is clear that the interviewer had a prejudice about what I could and could not have achieved in past roles, according to some standard other than my CV and degree. I'll let the reader infer what standard that might have been.
Do not interview here.
