Thriving in an AI-native growth company

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

'Top tier' enterprise tech customers (look at our case studies), strong AI products with proven ROI, challenging problems to work on, opportunities to take initiative and learn new things, exposure to mult functions and levels across the org, Experience and knowledge gained is significant.

Cons

It's a high-paced startup in an industry where VC investors have pivoted from "growth at all costs" to efficiency over past couple of years. Yes, we've had to "right-size" like many other tech companies. Yes, we feel stretched sometimes. This environment isn't for everyone. But worth it for the right people who want to develop at a fast pace.

A sinking ship

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Some really good and talented people (many laid off through multiple company layoffs)

Cons

Four company-wide layoffs in two years, ongoing product issues that are consistently overlooked, a lack of strong leadership, and a steady stream of dissatisfied customers. Unfortunately, this company is a sinking ship. Leadership is visibly misaligned, creating a culture of confusion, anxiety, and stress that spreads through every level of the business. The CEO seems far more focused on building his personal brand and traveling the world than actually running the company. Strategic direction changes constantly without collaboration or input from the broader team. Each shift is delivered as a mandate: “this is the plan, go,” with no structure, support, or rollout strategy. When you ask questions, you're told “the answers are coming,” but they never arrive. If you follow up again, you are met with hostility. The CCO, the only female executive, leads through fear. If you fall out of favor with her, she will actively work to turn others against you. The amount of gossip and inappropriate behavior coming directly from her was shocking and unprofessional. At least five employees went to the CEO with detailed, documented complaints. He chose to ignore all of them because he believes she ‘has a great network’.
