I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Synechron (Sydney) in Jan 2025
Interview
I went through three rounds of interviews and while the interview process was engaging and everyone onshore was lovely, I ultimately had to decline because Synechron wanted "irrevocable power of attorney" for everything I create 24/7 and they wanted me to sign those rights over and they apply even after I leave the company, which is a blatant violation of Australian laws.
I asked for a fair work contract that said whatever I did on my own time outside of work and own hardware is mine and mine alone, and they refused, and they even had me do a conference call with their legal team, which in hindsight, seemed like an intimidation tactic to get me to sign.
So if you're thinking of working for them, beware. Those terms and conditions they give you might just make you sign your life away, and the most devastating part about it is that the contract they give you says that *you* will pay for the legal costs of transferring that IP to them, even if you no longer work for them.
Shame.

Me neither.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Synechron in Jun 2021
Interview
One interview with the end client that was both technical and personal, and one interview with their head of UK accounts. That was it. Very quick turnaround. They were very nice to deal with.
