I was sourced and screened by a "recruiter" who obtained information regarding my professional background after reviewing my resume. Most of my experience being in talent management and strategy, the messaging was around them targeting talent that can use those skills to transition into Sales/Account Management. I was transparent about my abilities and interest, in that I've supported sales functions previously as a leader, and have been told many times that I should move into that space due to my success, knowledge and relationship building. I was provided a timeline around hiring and explained that the process would entail 3-4 rounds (Sales Team, Business Unit Head and another leader), lasting 2-3 weeks. I had to follow up multiple times as the correspondence was not as consistent as explained and gave the air of disorganization on the recruiters part. After providing an updated resume and an additional conversation around my sales experience (even after my resume was sourced and reviewed several times). After roughly 3 weeks, I was told the Sales team would review my resume and determine if I was a fit (which should likely have happened prior to outreach to me). Roughly a week later, I received an email that stated I would not be advancing for interview.
