The interview process consisted of five rounds over two months
* Recruiter Screening
* Hiring Manager
* Technical Interview
* Case Study Presentation
* Final Interview with the VP
The process started off feeling very organized and promising. The recruiter was engaged, communication was strong, and I was genuinely excited about the opportunity. As the process progressed, however, I found myself having to repeatedly follow up just to get updates or move to the next stage.
I felt I performed well throughout the interviews, especially during the case study presentation, which I invested a significant amount of time preparing for. Reaching the final interview with the VP gave me confidence that I was a strong candidate.
After the final interview, though, I heard nothing for five weeks despite sending multiple follow-up emails and text messages to the recruiters. Eventually, I even reached out through the company's LinkedIn page. I know that wasn't the most professional approach, but after investing so much time and effort into a lengthy interview process, I simply wanted some closure.
In the end, I received a 30-second phone call from the recruiter saying they wanted to "close the loop" and that some members of the interview panel didn't believe I was the right fit.
While I respect that hiring decisions don't always go your way, the lack of communication throughout the final stages was disappointing. After such an extensive interview process, I believe candidates deserve timely updates and a more thoughtful conclusion.
