Interview
I applied for TCS-BPS via Naukri for Manual Testing. I arrived at 9:30 AM at their location and gave the first round which was a simple aptitude test that took around 45 mins to complete.
Later on, someone came and explained that this wasn't a BPO(but we were in the waiting room for BPO interviews) and said that we wouldn't be tagged under TCS-IT but TCS-BPS. An hour later I had an HR round(?) in which they discussed my pay and experience. They told me that my technical round would be held after this.
That was at around 1PM in which we were told to wait again. I missed the first call in which I spoke with the interviewer in which he told me to wait and that I would be up next. He didn't call me then and told some of us to go for lunch.
I had to wait till 6PM until they told me to fill a feedback form for an interview I hadn't given yet! I finally managed to give the interview but I was too tired and angry for waiting the entire day for the interview. The interviewer apparently was processing each candidate that applied for Manual Testing and that there were a lot of candidates.
He was apologizing to me for those reasons but I was too tired and angry to even give my interview properly that I couldn't concentrate on the questions. That too, if I'm applying for a Manual Testing position, I don't see how automation comes into play since he started off that. I didn't clear it because:
A. Spending nearly 7 hours doing nothing but isn't funny(sure for the interview team it may be but how would they like it if they had to go through the same thing)
B. I couldn't leave the room because I knew if I missed my turn again then I would have to wait. Waiting in a stuffy room with nothing to do is extremely draining and yes, that affected my interview since I just wanted to leave instead of waiting. I am NOT applying for a guard post position to wait nor is the position some kind of Holy Grail in the job market that everyone would sacrifice their first born just to get selected.
C. I'm tired of acting like a sheep and not raise my voice. If your interview process is lengthy and time consuming, then there's something wrong with YOUR process not the candidate's.
I can't believe that you have to run around the interviewer just to get your interview and that there was only a single interviewer despite so many candidates being present. I almost lost my temper at the feedback form given to me before my interview and I learned about the reason after asking them repeatedly. Also, why weren't they prepared for something like this? They could have had multiple interviewers to handle the large number of candidates. Are they expecting us to wait till midnight until we're told to leave for the day? Or at least have the decency to tell the candidate that it might take some time.
I am extremely disappointed with the entire interview process, I would have been more happy if they told me to leave for the day six hours back instead of wasting the entire day travelling and waiting in a stuffy room.

If you get a good interviewer who is serious about recruiting then you will be asked good questions, be it technical or managerial questions. But if you get a person who is not serious about recruiting then you could only blame your luck as you will be asked questions which doesn't have anything do with technical or managerial background.
