I was contacted by a female recruiter and they interviewed me for one hour, the next day they asked to do the pre-employment drug test and they asked for reference check . So, I spent a day and did the drug test , I gave them two references , they told me they want more. I gave them four. They contacted my references and they all responded. The recruiter told me that your pre-employment steps are done and it is setting with the senior recruiter . I just waited and waited for week, no news. I emailed them , no answer. Ok, finally call them , she is like oh I was going to call you today. So, I am going to send you some papers to read and lalblab , . I am like ok. I waited for a day nothing was sent. I emailed the first recruiter can I talked to my manager or someone else, like nothing is happening and I am waiting. I was sure that my drug test is good and my references were ok. I was pushing so hard and they were not transparent. This older recruiter was very cold and rude and very not like cooperating. She is like keep saying that the process takes months you need to wait. I was keep pushing and I knew something is wrong. So , finally after so many calls and emails she called me that I have unfortunate news for you . We do not hire any more we want to hire internally. I was so upset and frustrated. Like you check on references and I did drug test. I did not know that a recruiter have so much power and play with you this way, I was not allowed to talk to the manager. The process was weird and unprofessional! do not give references before job offer! They also post the position again. The older recruiter keep telling me before the rejection , are you sure you want to come here ? This is very different than lower mainland? I am like if I was not sure why would I bother going through all these stresses?
