I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Tesco (Glasgow, Scotland) in May 2016
Interview
I applied for a Tesco Express in Glasgow, and within a day of my right to work being approved, I got a phone call from the store on a Sunday. I missed the first call and phoned back around 10 minutes later to find the recruiting manager had left and she would phone me back the next day. 3 days pass and no phone call! So I thought that I had been unsuccessful as I couldn't get through to the store anymore. Two days later I get a phone call st work from the manager asking me when I was next free and she apologies for all the confusion - she was away on business. Anyways, my interview was on Monday, she explained that she was meeting with her deputy manager the following day to discuss all the applicants. Interview was very informal, just a chat followed along with 4 name a time when.. Questions. She said she would let me know within 48 hours of their decision. Around an hour later I got a phone call from the manager explaining that as soon as I left, she knew she wanted to offer me the job, which I gladly accepted! My induction is tomorrow, and she wanted to me to start on Saturday but unfortunately I have a 2 week notice at my current job. For anyone panicking out there, don't! I'm only 20 but it is the most chilled out interview I've ever been to, and don't panic if you don't hear back straight away either!
