Had an initial phone screen that went very well - or so I thought. I was told by the recruiter I would be moving forward to the next interview and should hear from the hiring manager in about a week. That week came and went and I heard nothing. I sent a followup email to the recruiter, no response. Another week and a half went by and still nothing, so I followed up again. Crickets. Finally after nearly a month, I sent another email to the recruiter to let them know I was still very interested in the position, and the recruiter responded letting me know the position has been filled. This exact same thing has played out for several people I know and the lack of communication for a high level position such as this at the corporate level is unacceptable. I do not understand why its ok to string a candidate along for a month. Would they have even let me know had I not reached out? Doubtful. I was looking forward to working at Corporate Home Depot but I will continue to search elsewhere; clearly this is not the company I thought it was. Their loss, honestly!
