I received an email from a temp who was suppose to set up an interview between the HR Business partner and myself. Then received another email that the temp would be conducting the interviews on the HR business partners behalf. I spent more than an hour on the phone with this woman -- who was nice but obviously not a decision maker in the process. I answered every question "on the money." She told me she had a list of 10 questions. I don't know how many she actually asked because she spent a lot of time talking about herself and how happy she was to be working with the company. It was odd. She was odd. But I rolled with it, as the role would have been a perfect fit for my skills and experience, and judging from the company's current digital presence -- nonexistent -- it would have been really satisfying to shepherd them into the 21st century. Received an email within a few days, a form letter mind you, by the original HR Business Manager who I never interviewed with, telling me it was nice speaking with but they were moving forward with other candidates. Spoke with the temp. She apparently had 10 questions to ask, which she said she took down the responses verbatum, which I really doubt, without any input and they made the decision..... It was the most ridiculous HR screen I have ever gone through.
