Applied online and the HR set up a video chat. She was incredibly personable, was very candid about the state of the company culture and great to chat with. Asked basic questions and moved on to the next round which included a meeting with the CMO and the Director.
Upon arrival, the HR manager greeted me and was again very pleasant. I met with the CMO first who shared their mission, upcoming goals and she asked very specific questions about things I listed on my resume. All in all it was as expected.
When I met with the Director however, she was incredibly distracted. The conference room has floor to ceiling windows looking into the main office. She spent the first 15mins looking out the window repeatedly until I started asking her question, then she became somewhat engaged. When I asked her what are some challenges to her role, she replied offhandedly, "Getting someone hired... Just kidding." After the interview as she was walking me out, she asked me a casual question that reflected her lack of attention during our interview discussion.
I think sometimes people forget interviews are a two-way street. She obviously doesn't represent every single person in the company but it did leave a negative experience.
