Usual process: recruiter call -> 2 phone screens -> onsite. While I've enjoyed phone interviews, I've decided this is not the place I want to work on during my first session of onsite.
Almost immediately it became clear to me that people other than CEO doesn't have much things to say on product, process etc. Probably a cons of a celebrity run company.
Company isn't sure yet what they're doing, in terms technology; which is fine to me. I've worked in early stage startups and understand how product-market fit isn't right yet. But it's the process that alarmed me.
I've been told they're data driven team but when I asked what's their success criteria for their MVP; seems no one knew. They want to build it and then take it from there. Asked about what will determine this role as a successful hire, answer was ~"you'll have to talk to your manager".
Later they've also let me know they're interested about me.

I recently interviewed with Thrive Global, which was one of the most unprofessional interview processes I’ve experienced. The recruiter I worked with seemed to have very little information about the expected steps, and communication was extremely poor throughout.
During the interview, the recruiter appeared uninterested in the company, distracted, unengaged, and even stepped away for 20 minutes due to double-booking the time slot. Despite being told I would advance to the next round and requesting my availability, after providing my availability, I never heard back. Being ghosted at this stage shows a lack of professionalism and respect.
I'm sure the company is great, but the recruitment process has some serious issues to address.

Interview
Out of all the interviews that I've been on, this is arguably one of the worst interview processes.
First, communication overall needs improvement. I had to reach out to the recruiter several times at each interview step to get the necessary information. I've been told in the first technical round that it would be a leetcode-based question, but it was to build a React app instead. Although it wasn't an issue, it's still misleading and could be for others.
Second, setting up the system design interview was a process in itself. I was going back and forth with the recruiter to schedule a time for a WEEK, only to be told that I could only schedule a morning slot.
Finally, the system design interview. I was sitting on a Zoom call for 15 minutes past the scheduled time. I learned that there was an issue on their end due to, you guessed it, miscommunication.

Interview
My interview with Thrive was a very nice experience.
I didn't get an offer, but I did feel that I was allowed to give it my best shot.
Both interviewers were very pleasant and they put a lot of effort into getting to know me and my career. The live coding session, which can be nerver wrecking, was done really well. The interviewer presented it as a problem we were working on together, gave clear direction and paced it in a way where I was never left stuck.
After the interview I was given clear and helpful feedback on my performance.
